5/14 Happy Mothers Day to our Blessed Mama and our little mama Luisa!

The Virgin Mary in the Kingdom of the Divine Will; Day 6

Lesson of the Queen of Heaven:

Dearest daughter, trust your Mama (Blessed Mother) and pay attention to My Lessons; they will serve you to make you abhor your will, and to make you long within yourself for that Divine Fiat, whose Life I so much yearn to form in you.
My daughter, you must know that the Divinity was assured about Me through the Test It wanted—while everyone believes that I did not have any test, and that it was enough for God to make the Great Portent He made of Me, of Conceiving Me without original sin. Oh, how they deceive themselves. On the contrary, He asked of Me a Proof which He has asked of no one. And He did this with Justice and with Highest Wisdom, because, since the Eternal Word was to descend into Me, not only was it not decorous that He find in Me the original sin, but it was also not decorous for Him to find in Me a human will operating. It would have been too unseemly for God to descend into a creature in whom reigned the human will. And this is why He wanted from Me, as Proof, and for My whole life, My will, in order to secure the Kingdom of the Divine Will within My Soul. Once He secured this in Me, God could do with Me whatever He wanted; He could give Me anything, and I can say that He could deny Me nothing.
For now, let us go back to the point we reached. I will reserve the narration of what this Divine Will did in Me during the course of My Lessons.
Now listen, My daughter: after the Triumph in the Test, the Divine Fiat took the Sixth Step in my soul by having Me take Possession of all of the Divine Properties, as much as it is possible and imaginable for the creature. Everything was Mine—Heaven and earth, and even God Himself, whose very Will I possessed. I felt I was the Possessor of Divine Sanctity, of Divine Love, of Divine Beauty, Power, Wisdom and Goodness. I felt I was Queen of Everything; nor did I feel a stranger in the House of My Celestial Father. I felt vividly His Paternity and the Supreme Happiness of being His Faithful Daughter. I can say that I grew up on the Paternal knees of God, nor did I know other love or other science but that which My Creator administered to Me. Who can tell you what this Divine Will did in Me? It Elevated Me so High, It Embellished Me so much, that the very Angels remain mute, nor do they know where to begin to speak about Me.
Now, My dearest daughter, you must know that, as soon as the Divine Fiat had Me take Possession of Everything, I felt Myself the Possessor of Everything and of Everyone. With Its Power, Immensity and All-seeingness, the Divine Will enclosed all creatures in My soul, and I felt a little place in My Maternal Heart for each one of them. From the moment I was conceived, I carried you in My Heart, and— O, how much I Loved you, and I Love you. I Loved you so much, that I acted as your Mother before God; My Prayers, My Sighs, were for you; and in the delirium of Mother, I said: “O! How I wish to see My daughter Possessor of Everything, just as I am.”
Therefore, listen to your Mama: do not want to recognize your human will any more. If you do so, everything will be in common between Me and you; you will have a Divine Strength in your power; all things will turn into Divine Sanctity, Love and Beauty. And I, in the Ardor of My Love, just as the Most High sang My Praises, “All Beautiful, All Holy, All Pure are You, O Mary!” I will say: “Beautiful, Pure and Holy is My daughter, because she Possesses the Divine Will.”

…After this, my lovable Jesus made Himself seen as a tiny little child, who, throwing His arms around my neck, told me: “My mama, My mama…. One who does My Divine Will becomes mother; My Divine Fiat embellishes her for Me, transforms her, and renders her fecund, in such a way as to give her all the qualities in order to be a true mother. And I keep forming this mother with the reflections of the Sun of My Divine Volition, and I glory and take so much pleasure in calling her My mama, My mama…. And not only do I choose her as My mother, but I call many more tiny little ones and give to them My mother as their mother.”

And while He was saying this, He showed me many little boys and girls around me; and the child Jesus said to them: “This is My mother and your mama.”

The little ones made feast and drew all around me together with Jesus; and Jesus added: “These little ones you see are no other than the first cohort of the children of My Divine Volition. In It, all will be little, because My Divine Will has the virtue of preserving them fresh and beautiful, just as they came out of Our creative hands. And since It called your littleness to live in It, it is right that, as the first one, you be the tiny little mama of the tiny little children.”

. . . After this, my lovable Jesus made Himself seen as a tiny little child, who, throwing His arms around my neck, told me (Luisa Piccarreta):  “My mama, My mama….

And while He (Jesus) was saying this, He (Jesus) showed me (Luisa) many little boys and girls around me (Luisa); and the child Jesus said to them:  “This is My mother and your mama.”

And since It (Divine Will) called your (Luisa’s) littleness to live in It, it is right that, as the first one, you (Luisa) be the tiny little mama of the tiny little children (of the Most Holy Divine Will).”

5/13 MAY 13 – 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF OUR LADY OF FATIMA APPARITION

May 13, 2017 – Our Lady of Fatima

Date: 1917

Place: Fatima, Portugal

Visionaries: 3 children — Lucia, Jacinta, Francisco

In the Spring of 1916, on the back edge of WWI, before the Russian Revolution and when the world was beginning to spin even more wildly out of control, an angel appeared to 3 shepherd children at Fatima, Portugal. The angel, who called himself the Angel of Portugal, appeared three times, taught the children various prayers and entreated them to penance and to offering sacrifices to the Lord.

After these 3 appearances, a lull of 8 months went by. Then, in 1917, when Lucia was 10, Francisco was 9, and Jacinta was 7, Our Lady appeared to the children, asking them to return to that site on the 13th day of each month for the next 6 months. (She would come 6 times to all the children, and also later to Lucia alone.)

During the first apparition (13 May), Our Lady answered questions from the children about their fates. She said that they would all go to Heaven (but Francisco would have a few Rosaries to say first). She told them that of two of their friends who’d died, one was in Heaven and another was in Purgatory. She then mentioned the war in Europe and told the children to pray the Rosary for peace.

During the second apparition, she told the children to pray what has become known as the “Fatima Prayer” during their Rosaries. When asked, she said that Francisco and Jacinta would be in Heaven soon, but that Lucia would stay to help bring people to Christ.

During the third apparition, three secrets were given to the children.

First, they were shown a vision of Hell.

Second, they were told of the “errors of Russia” and how they would spread throughout the world unless the world mended its ways. To that end, she called for penance and said that Russia should be consecrated to her Immaculate Heart by the Pope and the Bishops in union with him, and that the faithful should receive Communion of reparation in atonement for the sins of the world on the first Saturday of each month (the “First Saturdays” devotion). If these things aren’t done, Russia’s errors would spread, the Church will be persecuted, various nations will be annihilated, and the Holy

Father will have much to suffer. She said, though, that in the end, her Immaculate Heart would triumph.

Lucia, warned by her Bishop that the apparitions could be demonic, asked the Lady if she would tell them who she was and if she would perform a miracle to help prove to others that the visions were real. The Lady said she would.

During the 4th apparition, Our Lady gave the children instructions concerning the chapel which was to be built and reassured them of the miracle that would take place.

During the 5th apparition, she said that the promised miracle that all could see would take place during her next visit (on 13 October).

During the last apparition common to all the children, crowds gathered; around 70,000 people sloshed through the mud caused by the heavy rains that had fallen all night to see the promise fulfilled. Mary referred to herself as the “Lady of the Rosary,” mentioned again the chapel that would be built, and said the war would end soon. Suddenly, the dark clouds that obscured the sky parted, revealing the sun as a softly lit disk of spinning silver or an opalescent pearl shade. Thousands and thousands saw the sun spin, dance, throw off many different rays of color — red, yellow, purple, blue light coloring all

they saw. Some swore they saw the sun crashing toward the earth. Even secular newspapers reported what happened with the sun and that one could witness the phenomenon without hurting one’s eyes. People who’d gone to the site to mock the children and the faithful found themselves in tears, staring at the sky in amazement, converted to Christ. Then Our Lady disappeared, and St. Joseph, holding the child Jesus, appeared to the children, blessing the world by signing the Cross in the air. This apparition went away, and then Christ and Mary (as Our Lady of Sorrows) appeared, Christ blessing the

world as his step-father had done. Then Our Lady appeared alone again, only to Lucia’s eyes, as Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.

After the miracle of the sun, the crowds saw that the muddy, wet fields and their clothing had dried.

Francisco and Jacinta died very young, as Our Lady said. They were beatified in 2000. Lucia joined the Carmelite Order as a nun where, as of 2002, she still lives. In 1944, Our Lady appeared again to Lucia and asked her to write down the Third Secret given to her at Fatima — but not to reveal it until 1960 because “it will be much clearer then.” 1960 came and went, but the secret was not revealed; instead, Sr. Lucia was ordered to never speak to anyone about Fatima.

In the year 2000, the Vatican released its version of the “Third Secret”; that text appears below. The official interpretation of this “Third Secret” is that it referred to the assassination attempt on John Paul II’s life in 1981 and that all of its relevance is in the past.

 THIRD PART OF THE “SECRET”

AS RELEASED BY THE VATICAN, MAY 2000

“I write in obedience to you, my God, who command me to do so through his Excellency the Bishop of Leiria and through your Most Holy Mother and mine.

“After the two parts which I have already explained, at the left of Our Lady and a little above, we saw an Angel with a flaming sword in his left hand; flashing, it gave out flames that looked as though they would set the world on fire; but they died out in contact with the splendor that Our Lady radiated towards him from her right hand: pointing to the earth with his right hand, the Angel cried out in a loud voice: “Penance, Penance, Penance!”

“And we saw in an immense light that is God: “something similar to how people appear in a mirror when they pass in front of it” a Bishop dressed in White “we had the impression that it was the Holy Father.”

“Other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious going up a steep mountain, at the top of which there was a big Cross of rough-hewn trunks as of a cork-tree with the bark; before reaching there the Holy Father passed through a big city half in ruins and half trembling with halting step, afflicted with pain and sorrow, he prayed for the souls of the corpses he met on his way;

“Having reached the top of the mountain, on his knees at the foot of the big Cross he was killed by a group of soldiers who fired bullets and arrows at him, and in the same way there died one after another the other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious, and various lay people of different ranks and positions.

“Beneath the two arms of the Cross there were two Angels each with a crystal aspergilium in his hand, in which they gathered up the blood of the Martyrs and with it sprinkled the souls that were making their way to God.”

5/12 Five Fatima Prayers in the Divine Will

At the apparition of an angel and Our Lady to three poor children in Fatima, Portugal the children received many messages, mostly calling for personal conversion and prayer, as well as 5 new prayers.

We pray them in the Most Holy Divine Will in the name of everyone and everything past present and future:

1) The Fatima Prayer/Decade Prayer

“O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy. Amen.”

The Blessed Mother told the children that people should add this prayer to the end of each decade of the Rosary.

2) The Pardon Prayer

“My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love Thee! I beg pardon for all those that do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love Thee.”

This prayer was given to the children by the angel that visited them in 1916, the year before The Blessed Mother appeared to them.

3) The Angel’s Prayer

“O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary I beg the conversion of poor sinners.”

This is another prayer given to them by the angel. There was a Eucharistic host and chalice suspended in the air, and the angel led them in kneeling before it and praying this prayer.

4) The Eucharistic Prayer

“Most Holy Trinity, I adore Thee! My God, my God, I love Thee in the Most Blessed Sacrament.”

When Mary appeared to the children for the first time on May 13, 1917, she said, “You will have much to suffer, but the grace of God will be your comfort.” According to Lucia, one of the children, a bright light shone all around them, and without thinking about it, they all started reciting this prayer.

5) The Sacrifice Prayer

“O Jesus, it is for the love of Thee, in reparation for the offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and for the conversion of poor sinners.”

Mary gave the children this prayer, as well as the Fatima Prayer/Decade Prayer, on June 13th, 1917. The prayer is meant to be recited when you are offering up suffering to God.

5/10 Today is the Feast Day of St. Cataldo, The Shipwrecked Saint

5/9 – Tomorrow is the Feast Day of St. Cataldo, The Shipwrecked Saint

Saint Cathaldus (Cataldo)
of Shanrahan and Taranto
Feast Day May 10th

Following the arrival of St. Patrick, Holy men established small monasteries throughout Ireland. It is not surprising then, to learn that in the seventh century a Holy man named Cathal, having studied at the University of Lismore, made his way through the pass in the ancient SlieveCua mountains and arrived at Rathan where he established his monastic settlement. He was appointed Bishop of the area even though it must be remembered that in those early years of the Christian Church this did not mean that he was in charge of a diocese.

After some years at Shanrahan, Cathal set out on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. On his return journey he was shipwrecked off the coast of Southern Italy. There he realized that the people of the area had reverted to paganism, so he resolved to stay amongst them in an effort to reconvert them to Christianity.

Within a few years the people of Taranto in Southern Italy had selected Saint Cataldo (in Latin, Cathaldus or Cataldus) as their Bishop. Today the popularity of Saint Cathaldus in Southern Italy is equal to, if not greater than, the popularity of St. Patrick in Ireland. Over one hundred and fifty churches are dedicated to him in that country and the Cathedral-Basilica in Taranto proudly bears his name. He is the Saint Protector of Corato (Bari), of Gangi (Palermo) and of many other places. A town in Sicily is called San Cataldo.

In 1071, during the reconstruction of the Basilica in Taranto, the tomb of Cathaldus was discovered and opened. With his body was found a gold cross bearing his name and the word Rathcau.

Wow! Outdid themselves!
Cathedral of Saint Cataldo, Taranto, Italy

In 1963, Fr. Frank Mackin, a Jesuit priest from Boston, came to Clogheen to research his family history. Following that visit, he went to Taranto to research the life of the Irish Saint. He was amazed that there was neither a statue nor a stained glass window commemorating the Irish Saint in the Clogheen Church even though it was obvious from the writings of the Historian Fr. Everard – Clogheen’s Parish priest in the early years of the twentieth century – and from local tradition, that Clogheen people were aware of the historic link between Taranto and Shanrahan. He resolved to do something about it. In 1986 the Mackin family of America, Ireland and Australia installed a beautiful Stained Glass window in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, on Clogheen’s Main Street. The window, on the west wall of the church, depicts the life of St. Cathaldus in Shanrahan, his journey to the Holy Land and his being shipwrecked off the coast of Southern Italy.

In 1996, an important delegation from Taranto in Italy, accompanied by Signor Enzo Farinella from the Italian Embassy in Dublin representing the Italian Ambassador, came to Clogheen to re-establish the historic link between Shanrahan and Taranto. The delegation was formed by Mons. Dr. Nicola Di Comite, Vicar General and Archdeacon of the Metropolitan Chapter of Taranto; Mons Marco Morone, Parish Priest of the Basilica-Cathedral ‘San Cataldo’ and Don Cosimo Quaranta, secretary of theMetropolitan Chapter.

During concelebrated mass on Sunday September 22,1996 Monsignor Michael Olden gave the homily on the subject of Saint Cathaldus. Then Mons Nicola Di Comite addressed the people of Clogheen and presented his Lordship most Rev. Dr. William lee, Bishop of Waterford and Lismore with a gold replica of the Cross of St. Cathaldus.

At the time of writing, it is planned that a plaque be erected at Shanrahan to commemorate the visit of the Italian delegation and the link between Shanrahan in Clogheen and Taranto in Southern Italy.

In the Irish office of this great Saint (Gill and Son, Dublin) Die viii, Martii, p. 18, we read:

“Cathaldus in loco hodie Shanrahan nuncapato sedam suam episcpales constituit”.

(Cathaldus, in a place nowadays called Shanrahan, established his Episcopal See)
