10/31 The Vigil of All Saints

 

In the eighth century the Gregorian Sacramentary indicated among the common Masses without a date:  The Mass in honor of All Saints.  Fixed in the following century on November 1, it became The Mass of All Saints Day that is now prepared for by that of a vigil.  Thus today is the Eve of All Saints, otherwise known as All Hallows Eve, that is Hallows Eve, or now more commonly,  Halloween.

The Celestial Mother helps Luisa to disarm Justice. The most salutary and efficacious medicine in the saddest encounters of life is resignation.

The Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta the Little Daughter of the Divine Will:

As I was in my usual state, I felt myself outside of myself and I found the Queen Mama. As She saw me, She began to speak about Justice, and how It is about to clash with all Its fury against the people. She said many things about this, but I don’t have the words to express them. In the meantime I could see the whole of Heaven filled with points of swords against the world. Then She added: “My daughter, you (Luisa) have disarmed Divine Justice many times, contenting yourself with receiving Its blows upon yourself. Now that you see It at the summit of Its fury, do not lose heart, but be courageous; with heart full of holy fortitude, enter into this Justice and disarm It. Do not be afraid of the swords, of the fire, or of anything you may encounter; in order to obtain the intent, if you see yourself wounded, beaten, burned, rejected, do not draw back, but rather, let this be a spur for you to move on. See, so that you (Luisa)  may do this, I (Blessed Mother) Myself have come to your help by bringing you (Luisa) a garment; as your soul wears it, you will acquire courage and fortitude so as to fear nothing.” Having said this, from within Her mantle She pulled out a garment woven with gold, streaked with various colors, and She clothed my (Luisa’s) soul. Then She (Blessed Mother) gave me Her Son (Jesus), telling me (Luisa): “And now, as a pledge of My love, I (Blessed Mother) place My dearest Son (Jesus) in your custody, that you (Luisa) may keep Him, love Him and content Him in everything. Try to act in My (Blessed Mother) stead, so that, as He (Jesus) finds all His contentment in you (Luisa), the discontent that all the others give Him may not cause Him too much pain.”

Who can say how happy and strengthened I was, clothed with that garment and with the loving pledge in my arms? Greater happiness I could certainly not desire. Then the Queen Mama disappeared, and I remained with my sweet Jesus. We went round the earth a little bit, and among the many encounters, we (Jesus and Luisa) met a soul who was prey to despair. Having compassion for her, we drew near her, and Jesus wanted me to speak to her, to make her comprehend the evil she was doing. Through a light which Jesus Himself infused in me (Luisa), I said to her: ‘The most salutary and efficacious medicine in the saddest encounters of life is resignation. By despairing, instead of taking the medicine, you are taking the poison with which to kill your soul. Don’t you know that the most appropriate remedy for all evils, the main thing that renders us noble, Divinizes us, makes us similar to Our Lord, and has the virtue of converting the very bitternesses into sweetness, is resignation? What was the life of Jesus upon earth if not continuing the Will of the Father? And while He was on earth, He was united with the Father in Heaven. The same for a resigned soul: while living on earth, her heart and will are united with God in Heaven. Can there be anything more dear and desirable than this?’ As though stirred, that soul began to calm herself, and Jesus and I, together, withdrew. May everything be for the glory of God, and may He be always blessed.

Those who Live in the Divine Will move in the Fiat just by breathing.  They can feel within themselves the whole Heavenly Court; Its Breathing, Its Motion and Its Virtue of Conquest and Happiness.  Painful conditions for the Divine Will when It is rejected. 

My poor mind runs, flies in the Divine Will toward its center, to rest—to leave its remains and to take, in exchange, the clothing of Its Light, Its Breathing, Its Heartbeat, and Its Motion, that moves in all and gives Life to all.

Now, while I was swimming in theoceanofJoysof the Divine Fiat, my always adorable Jesus, doing His short little visit, with Unspeakable Love told me: “My little daughter of My Will(Luisa), how Beautiful it is to Live in My Will.  As the soul enters It, she breathes with Our Breathing, beats with Our Heartbeat, and moves in Our Motion.  In Communion with all, she does what the Angels, the Saints and all created things do, and makes everybody do what she is doing.  The Wonders contained in Our Will are astonishing; the scenes are so touching and unique as to capture everybody, making all attentive in enjoying Them.  Who knows what they would do to enjoy, as spectators, such delightful scenes from this soul who Lives in the Divine Will.

“Now, you(Luisa) must know that as the soul enters My Divine Will, she breathes, palpitates and moves in Our Motion; but she does not lose her own breath, heartbeat and motion, although it is never detached from Ours.  Since Our Will is everywhere and circulates more than the breathing, heartbeat and motion of all, then, what happens?  The Angels and the Saints, Our very Divinity, and the whole Creation, together with My Will, feel the breathing and the heartbeat of the creature within them.  They all feel her moving inside, even to the center of their souls.  They are Full of Happiness, of New Unspeakable Joys, that the pilgrim soul brings to each Blessed; since this soul is not enjoying—but suffering and conquering with her free will.  It is merely by breathing, palpitating and moving, in the Fullness of Joy that the soul, always united to My Will, brings ever New Joys from breathing in her own will.  And since it is the free will that forms the Conquering Act of the creature, she gives Me this New Conquering Flavor. O, how Happy the Blessed, Our own Divinity, and the whole Creation remain—and in an emphasis of Love and Fullness of Joy they say: ‘Who is breathing, palpitating and moving in us?  Who, from the earth, is bringing the Conquering Act of Pure Joys—of New Love, that we do not have in Heaven, and that makes us so Happy—increasing in us Our Reciprocating Love?’  And all in chorus: ‘It is a soul who Lives in the Divine Will on earth.’  What Prodigies! What Wonders! How Enchanting the scenes!  A breathing that breathes in all, even in its Creator—that moves in all, even through Heaven, in the stars, in the Sun, in the air, in the wind, in the ocean.  It takes everything in hand in its own motion, and gives to God Love and adoration—all that everyone should give but has never given.  She gives to all her God—His Love, His Will; and she brings everything to God—and God to everybody.

“Even if not all creatures would take Us, We remain equally Loved and glorified, because such is the Fullness of one act, one motion in Our Will, that all those creatures remain as many little drops of water before an Immense ocean—like many little flames before the great light of the sun. Therefore this motion, breathing and palpitating of the creature in Our Will abounds in all—hugs Eternity.  Suns and oceans are formed, so immense that they can give Us everything; and even if others do not accept this Life, they remain so small that it is as if they didn’t exist.

“O, My Will!  How Admirable, Powerful and Adorable You are.  The creature in You can give Us all and We can give all to her.  She covers everything and everyone; she makes Love arise with her light and gives Us Love for all.  We can say she offers True Reparation, because when the creatures offend Us, We find that she can hide Us in her Love in order to Love Us, and inside her Light to defend Us—putting to flight, with her Light, those who want to wound Us.  Therefore, always cherish in your heart Living in Our Will.”

Then He added:  “My daughter(Luisa), the Love for one who Lives in Our Will is so Great that, as she breathes, she gives Us, as a gift, all that We have done:  the Creation, the Angels, the Saints, Our own Supreme Being, Our Love and Glory.  So, taken by such excess of Love, We give her back what she has given Us.  As she exhales, she returns to Us all that We are; as she inhales, We return to her what she gave Us.  We are in continuous relation and exchange of gifts.  By this, We continuously strengthen Our Love—Our Inseparability, and We feel so much delight that We give her all that she wants.”

But while I was feeling drowned in the Divine Will, the thought of my poor state was troubling me—the fact that I had to succumb to a sort of death every night, for fifty years and more, until someone would come to get me out of that state.  My God, I feel such pain, You know how much pain and how much it costs me.  Only the fear of displeasing You and not doing Your Will holds me on. Otherwise, who knows what I would do not to be submitted to this.

And my sweet Jesus ran toward me and squeezing me tight in His arms told me: “My good daughter(Luisa), be of good cheer.  Don’t be too worried; I don’t want you(Luisa) worried.  It is your Jesus who wants this painful state for you(Luisa)—this succumbing as if you(Luisa) were losing your life.  I suffer it together with you(Luisa), since True Love cannot deny anything to the loved one.  And then, this state of yours, so painful—as if losing your life, was necessary and wanted by My Divine Will.  It wanted to find in you(Luisa) the return and reparation for the many deaths that creatures inflict upon It when they reject It, not giving It Life within themselves.  Submitting yourself for so long to these pains of death repaid My Divine Will for the many deaths given to It, and called It to kiss the human will—to make Peace.  It is thanks to this, I could speak so much about My Will.

“You(Luisa) must know that anything the creature does in My Will runs to give and form Life within It; otherwise, not receiving It, My Life dies for her.  Do you think it’s nothing for Me, this Great Pain of seeing so many of My Divine Lives dead for the creatures?  Therefore it was necessary to find one who, in some way, would re-ignite My Yearning to form My Life in them.  My Will is in the same condition as a poor mother, who is ready to deliver but is prevented from giving life, and this life suffocates in her own womb.  Poor mother; she feels her baby dying in her womb and she dies of pain with him.

“Such is My Will:  It feels in Itself the Birth of many Divine Lives already mature that It wants to give to the creatures; but as It is about to deliver them, It feels them suffocating in Its Womb.  The New Life dies and My Will with It, since there cannot be a True Life of Sanctity, Love, or anything belonging to Our Divine Life, without My Will.  Therefore, My daughter(Luisa), calm down and don’t think about it anymore. If We did this, We did it with the Highest Wisdom—with Love that We could not contain, and for the sake of the Order that We keep in Our Works.  It is necessary to bend and adore what We dispose for Love of the creatures.”

Closing of the Diocesan Phase 
of the Cause of Beatification and Canonization
of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta
October 29, 2005

On October 29, 2005, His Excellency Mons. Giovanni Battista Pichierri, Archbishop of Trani, Barletta-Biceglie and Titulary of Nazareth, in Corato, Italy, having completed the diocesan investigation (“inchiesta diocesana”) of her fame of sanctity with the compilation of testimonies and documents, remitted his definitive judgment on the sanctity of the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta to the Holy Father.

In a communiqué of 2008, the Archbishop of Trani, informed “that the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, in waiting to issue a decree on the legal validity of the diocesan investigation, has submitted the writings of the Servant of God for examination, to the two theological Censors, in conformity with the normative canon and the practice in force”.  Communique n. 2 (Prot.n.098/08/c3) regarding the process for Beatification and Canonization of the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta, Trani, May 30, 2008. Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The work of the theological Censors.

Before 1927, the writings of Luisa (the first 19 volumes and The Hours of the Passion), had already obtained the “Nihil Obstat” from the now Saint Annibale Maria Di Francia (Censor on behalf of the Archdiocese) and the Imprimatur of the then Archbishop Mons. Giuseppe M. Leo. In addition to this previous study, the Congregation for the Saints, conforming to the canonical normative and actual praxis establishes that the writings of a Servant of God should be submitted for examination by at least two theological Censors (whose names would remain secret); this should be completed before formally initiating the process at the level of the Holy See.

As this work on the writings had not taken place within the diocesan process, the Dicasterio ordered the completion of this requisite with the intention to be able to issue the decree on the legal validity of the diocesan investigation and in this manner initiate the Roman process. The theological Censors, named by the Church, must examine the writings and verify that there is nothing in them contrary to faith and tradition, and must also describe in their verdict the personality and the spirituality of the Servant of God.

The Holy Congregation for the Saints assigned this work to two theological Censors, asking their evaluation.

On June 11, 2010  it was announced that the first theologian appointed by the Holy See for the evaluation of the writings of the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta, had completed his assessment and officially rendered his verdict: POSITIVE. 

On July 23, 2010 Sister Assunta Marigliano, President of the Píous Association “Luisa Piccarreta – Little Daughter of the Divine Will” in Corato, Italy, who is also responsible for the promotion of the Cause for Beatification and Canonization of the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta, unofficially disclosed that the second theologian appointed by the Holy See for the evaluation of the writings of the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta, had completed his assessment and had officially rendered his verdict: POSITIVE.

The first Sermon that the little King Jesus preached to the children of Egypt.  How each of them had within his heart the Celestial Father, who Loved them and wanted to be Loved.

I was doing the round in the Divine Fiat—and O, how I yearned that no Act might escape me, of all that It has done, both in the Creation and the Redemption.  I feel that I lack something if I don’t recognize all that It did, loving it, kissing it, squeezing it to my heart, as if it were mine.  The Divine Volition would remained displeased if one who Lives in It did not know all of Its Acts, and if It couldn’t find the little ‘I love you’ from Its beloved one, in everything It did.  There is nothing It did not do for this creature.

So I arrived to follow the point when the Celestial Baby was in Egypt, in the act of taking His first steps.  I kissed His steps, I placed my ‘I love you’ in every step He took, and I asked Him for the first steps of His Will for all human generations.  I tried to follow Him in everything.  If He prayed, if He cried—I asked that His Will might animate all the prayers of the creatures, and that His tears might regenerate the Life of Its Fiat in the human family.

So, while I was attentive in following Him in everything, the little Baby King, visiting my poor soul, said to me:  “Daughter of My Will(Luisa), how Happy I am when the creature does not leave Me alone!  I feel her behind Me, in front of Me, and inside all My Acts.

“Now, you(Luisa) must know that My exile in Egypt was not without Conquests.  When I was about three years old, from our little hovel I could hear the children playing and shouting in the street; and as little as I was, I went out in their midst.  As soon as they saw Me, they ran around Me competing with themselves for who could get the closest to Me, because My Beauty, the Enchantment of My Gaze and the Sweetness of My Voice were such that they felt enraptured for love of Me.  So, they would throng around Me, loving Me so much that they could not detach themselves from Me.  I too Loved these
children, so I gave My first little sermon to these little ones, adapting Myself to their tiny capacity—since when Love is True, It not only tries to  make Itself known, but also to give all that may render one Happy in time and Eternity; more so, since, possessing innocence, they could easily understand Me.

“And would you(Luisa) like to know what My Sermon was about?  I said to them:  ‘My children, listen to Me.  I Love you very much and I want to make you know about your Origin.  Look up at Heaven.  Up there you have a Celestial Father who Loves you very much, and who was not satisfied to be your Father only from Heaven—to guide you, to Create for you a sun, a sea, a flowery earth to make you happy; but, Loving you with Exuberant Love, He wanted to descend inside your hearts, to form His Royal Residence in the depth of your souls, making Himself sweet Prisoner of each one of you.  But, to do what?  To give Life to your heartbeat, breath and motion.  So, as you walk, He walks in
your steps; He moves in your little hands; He speaks in your voice… and because He Loves you very much, as you walk or move—now He kisses you, now He squeezes you, now He hugs you and carries you Triumphantly as His own dear children.  How many hidden kisses and hugs Our Celestial Father does not give you!   But since, being inattentive, you didn’t let your kiss meet His kiss, and your hugs meet His Paternal Embrace, He remained with the Pain that His children neither hugged Him nor kissed Him.

“‘My dear children, do you know what this Celestial Father  wants from you?  He wants to be recognized within you, as having His own place in the center of your souls; and since He gives you everything—there is nothing He does not give to you—He wants your love in everything you do.  Love Him!  Let love be always in your little hearts, your lips, your works—in everything—and this will be the delicious food that you will give to His Paternity.

“‘He Loves you very much and wants to be Loved.  Nobody can ever love you as He Loves you.  It is true that you have a father on earth, but how different from the Love of the Celestial Father!  Your father on earth does not always follow you, watch over your steps, or sleep together with you; neither does he palpitate within your heart, and if you fall, he may not even know anything about it.  On the other hand, your Celestial Father never leaves you.  If you are about to fall, He gives you His hand not to let you fall; if you sleep, He watches over you; and even if you play and do something impertinent, He is always with you and knows everything you do.  Therefore, love Him very, very much!’

“And, getting more excited, I told them:  ‘Give Me your word that you will always, always love Him!  Say together with Me:  “We love You, our Father who are in the Heavens. We love You, our Father who dwells in our hearts!”’

“My daughter(Luisa), at My Words some children remained moved, some enraptured; some squeezed themselves to Me so much that they wouldn’t let Me go.  I made them feel the Palpitating Life of My Celestial Father inside their little hearts, and they rejoiced and made feast, because they no longer had a Father who was far away from them, but inside their own hearts.  And to make them firm and give them the strength to depart from Me, I Blessed those children, Renewing upon them Our Creative Power—invoking the Power of the Father, the Wisdom of Myself, the Son, and the Virtue of the Holy Spirit; and I  told them:  ‘Go—you will return.’  So they left….

“But they would come back the following days, almost in a crowd—a throng—of children.  They set themselves to spy when I was about to go out, and to see what I was doing in our hovel.  And when I went out they would clap their hands, making feast and shouting so much that My Mother would come out the door to see what was happening.  O, how enraptured She would remain, in seeing her Son speaking to those children with so much Grace.  She felt Her Heart bursting with Love, and could see the first fruits of My Life down here, since none of these children who listened to Me—not a single one of them—was lost.  Knowing that they had a Father inside their hearts was like a deposit, to be able to own the Celestial Fatherland—to love that Father who was in Heaven as well.

“My daughter(Luisa), this sermon that I, as a little Baby, gave to the children of Egypt, was the foundation—the Essence of the Creation of Man.  It contains the most Indispensable Doctrine and the Highest Sanctity.  It makes Love arise in every instant: the Love between the Creator and the creature.  What Pain, in seeing many little lives that do not know the Life of a God within their souls!  They grow without Divine Paternity, as if they were alone in the world.  They do not feel and do not know how much they are Loved.  So, how can they love me?  Without love, the heart hardens and the life is degraded and—poor youth!—they give themselves to the gravest crimes…. This is a Pain for your Jesus, and I want it to be a pain for you(Luisa) as well, so that you(Luisa) pray for many, that they may be taught that I am in their hearts—that I Love and I want to be Loved.”

During the whole course of His life, Jesus redid everything, for all in general and for each one individually. 

This morning, after letting me struggle very much, all of a sudden my adorable Jesus came, spreading rays of light. I was invested by that light and, I don’t know how, I found myself inside of Jesus Christ. Who can say how many things I comprehended inside that Most Holy Humanity? I can only say that His Divinity directed His Humanity in everything; and since in one single instant the Divinity can do as many acts as each of us can do in the whole period of one’s life, and as many acts as one wants to do, I comprehended with clarity that, because the Divinity operated in the Humanity of Jesus Christ, during the whole course of His life blessed Jesus redid for all in general and for each one individually everything that each one is obliged to do toward God, in such a way that He adored God for each one in particular, He thanked, repaired, glorified for each one, He praised, suffered, prayed for each one. And I comprehended that everything that each one must do has already been done before in the Heart of Jesus Christ.
