In the Gospel of Matthew we read: “Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy” In the other beatitudes, the promise  of Jesus contains something more: those who mourn will be comforted, the pure of heart will see God, the peacemakers will be called children of God … .. Jesus promises nothing else to the merciful than what they are already living: mercy. For God could not give more to the merciful, for mercy is the fullness of God, mercy is much more than an attribute of God, mercy is God’s own being.

The Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness” we read in the Book of Exodus

In Psalm 103 (Psalm 103:11 to 13) the psalmist marvels at the incredible scope of God’s mercy: “As high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is God’s mercy…”

“For his mercy endures forever.” This is the refrain that repeats after each verse in Psalm 136.

“God is love” (1Jn 4:8.16)

God is the One who takes care of his children as the apple of his eye.

The scriptures describe God to us as the One who hides us in the shadow of his wings.

So, starting from his love God arranged the incarnation, death and resurrection of his Son to regenerate the degenerate humanity. The obedience of the Word meant that He fully shared His love. No one could fully accomplish the mission. No one could restore man but Him, the Word. To this end God created the Virgin, and also created forgiveness

Jesus revealed to Luisa that the Divine Fiat in the creation made show of God’s operative, powerful and wise love, in a way that all created things were pregnant with God’s love, power and wisdom and unspeakable beauty. Instead, in the creation of the Sovereign Queen God passed onto more. God’s love was not content with the show of it, but wanted to move to pity, to tenderness and to compassion, so profound and intimate, as if it might want to convert itself into tears for the love of creatures. Behold therefore, how God’s love pronounced itself in order to create the Virgin Mary and call her to life, He created pardon, mercy, the reconciliation between God  and mankind, and He deposited pardon in this celestial and holy creature, as administrator between the children of God and hers. So that the Sovereign Lady possesses seas of pardon, of mercy, of pity and tearful seas of God’s love, in which all the generations can be involved, regenerated in these seas created in her; of pardon, of mercy, and of a pity so tender as to soften the hardest hearts. it was right that everything might become deposited in this Celestial Mother, because having to possess the Kingdom of the Divine Will, everything might become entrusted to her. She alone holds sufficient place in order to be able to possess the seas created by God, only in this Sovereign Lady God’s love didn’t find impediment, and therefore showed off so much and made so many marvels, even to give her divine fecundity in order to make her Mother of her Creator.

So all the acts that The Virgin Mary did together with Jesus, formed seas of  love and  raising their waves even to heaven they invested everything,  they formed  a dense rain on the  Divine Being  and so they carried the love of everyone, the refreshment, the balm with which God remained sweetened, and he  changed justice into transports of love for creatures.

One can say that God’s  love regenerated anew love for the human family, and God loved it with double love, but where? in the Queen and in her dear Son.

“Chosen to be the Mother of the Son of God, Mary, from the outset, was prepared by the love of God to be the Ark of the Covenant between God and man.” (Pope Francis – Misericordiae Vultus)

If God created forgiveness to restore man is because He desires that man return to the original state, that is, he become holy.

Jesus’ words: “Be merciful as your Father is merciful” (Luke 6:36) echo the ancient commandment “Be holy as I, the Lord your God, am holy” (Leviticus 19:2). Jesus imparted the face of mercy to God’s holiness.

God always encourages man to be new, wonderful, radiant, bright, He exhorts us: “Make you a new heart and a new spirit” (Ezekiel 18:31), but how? Admiring and imitating Him who is “the new dress,” Jesus, the eternal Son of the Father who was given to us by Mary.

Creating forgiveness God doesn’t rejects justice but He goes beyond justice with mercy and forgiveness. This does not mean devaluing justice or making it unnecessary. On the contrary, those who make mistakes must serve the sentence, just that this is not the end but the beginning of the conversion because we experience the tenderness of forgiveness.
